O EFEITO MODERADOR DAS VANTAGENS DE AGLOMERAÇÃO SOBRE A RELAÇÃO ENTRE INVESTIMENTOS DE EMPRESAS MULTINACIONAIS E DESENVOLVIMENTO REGIONAL

Resumo

Este artigo tem o propósito de analisar as relações entre as atividades de empresas multinacionais e o desenvolvimento regional, ponderando o efeito moderador dos clusters nesta dinâmica relacional. Com base em dados 73 subsidiárias de empresas multinacionais estrangeiras do setor da indústria de transformação operando em 34 municípios, procuramos testar as relações entre a existência de atividades de empresas multinacionais e o nível de desenvolvimento regional. Além disso, testamos os efeitos moderadores de clusters regionais. Os resultados apontam que em Santa Catarina, as empresas multinacionais estrangeiras estão localizadas em concentrações industriais caracterizando a formação de clusters. Além disso, os municípios com maior concentração industrial apresentaram um resultado melhor de IDHM e PIB quando comparados com os municípios com menor concentração industrial. Já o impacto das atividades de subsidiárias de empresas multinacionais no IDHM e PIB apresentaram comportamento divergente. O efeito moderador dos clusters apresentou influência positiva na relação entre importações e desenvolvimento regional. Para as exportações, a influência foi positiva para PIB e negativa para IDHM.
